The (equipped) Doom Siren was originally due to the Armour of Shrieking Souls. (He can release its cacophony, so it counts as a Doom Siren.) They could change it, I suppose. But my assumption would be that the vials/pipes are part of his Combat Drugs rig.

At least from the heads preview we can be confident that they'll look like classic Noise Marines, even if the name might migrate to the heavier unit.

Google tells me that "lacquered" is used in British English synonymously with "hair sprayed", and that "hair lacquer" is a synonym of "hair spray".
