    Magnetising Fulgrim Transfigured

Wholly for it or I'd never have bothered with all the fiddling. By the time I get around to painting him there may be a plastic Fulgrim out and this will become a display piece only, I'll end up gluing them anyway in that case. At least they'll be solid as a rick.

    Arkzein's - Project log - Emperor's Children

Cheers folks, have been using the same scheme for nearly 20 years I recon. Before that it was black and silver but the same blended green. I think it was the first thing I learned to paint properly back when learning wet and wet blending, blew my mind. Those minis of yours in the welcome thread...

    Magnetising Fulgrim Transfigured

Someday I'll get this into a full article with final complete pictures, however just on the off chance it's useful I'll post this here (given cutting into a $400 AUD+ model can be a bit daunting without a guide). Essentially you want N50 a N52 4x2mm (or 4x3mm, would make the join stronger) for...

    Emperor's Children Index Announced

I'm still betting on it, too much lines up, but then I'm a glass half full kinds of guy. It shouldn't be too long until we know for sure one way or the other at least. Hopefully something in the next Codex roadmap will give us a solid indication.

    Emperor's Children Index Announced

So, as semi-expected (but brilliant to have confirmed) we have Lucius and the boys missing from the Chaos Space Marine Codex, and we get an Index to tide us over, the same as happened to World Easter Last edition. This then is almost complete confirmation we are coming, and (in spite of what...

Without a proper EC option - what army lists are you running?

So without a proper EC option, Chaos very much in the doldrums competitively and our core Noise Marines lumped a mis-alligned version of Dark Pacts (and 1 OC and mixed / weak output) it's not that easy to put out a decent EC list. On the plus side some of our units are near the top of what Chaos...

Valrak - 40K EC and Fulgrim will "Rock your world"

On a live stream Valrak (source of a lot of later confirmed Warhammer rumours) got onto Emeproir's Children a bit.

    Arkzein's - Project log - Emperor's Children

Having previously focused more on the painting side, a lot of that experimenting and aimed at improvement over output, and regularly taken 50+ hours per mini I'd naturally never actually had a fully painted 2000 point army. Skirmish games, yes, Mordheim, Necromunda, Blood Bowl etc., but never...

2nd unit where I attempted 'Slap Chop', still learning and low TT quality but painting chaff units in 50 mins per mini made me realise the technique had legs, actually enjoying painting again at this point. Flesh using pale flesh and then just playing around with inks (magenta, blue, yellow etc.)

    emperors-children-raptors-slap-chop.jpg

My first attempt at 'Slap Chop' they came but pretty rough at the low end of TT quality and took 90 mins each, bit useful for learning the technique.

These were one of the later units when I was used to Slap Chop, yet I struggled with them, didn't come out as well as some others and took longer, maybe 90 minutes per model.

    noise-marine-unit-2-and-3-slap-chop-.jpg

Noise marine units done with slap chop, about 75 mins per mini for TT quality. The drybrush came out well on the champion so a quick 5 min play around got passable NMM on the blade. I was enjoying painting enough just to play around!
