Into some of the Balefleets, the Despoiler seeded shipmasters or champions whose loyalty to him was beyond question, and who would focus on the mission at hand. In a few cases, such as with the notoriously capricious Slaaneshi champion Asmilius the Glittering, Abaddon graciously favoured his new Ark masters with Black Legion honour guards of Chosen or Terminators. These warriors were more than simply an implicit threat. They would gladly give their lives for Abaddon’s cause if pushed to it, cutting a bloody swathe through any who stood in their path.
