Emperor's Children Index Announced

So, as semi-expected (but brilliant to have confirmed) we have Lucius and the boys missing from the Chaos Space Marine Codex, and we get an Index to tide us over, the same as happened to World Easter Last edition.

This then is almost complete confirmation we are coming, and (in spite of what the article states) we can assume it's on the closer side. The Winter rumours (Dec 2024 - Feb 2025) seem even more likely now as this would leave the gap similar as to when World Easters hit.

Given how little we currently have in the faction though it's still not inconceivable GW would leave us languishing longer, even to the end of 10th / start of 11th.

Not gonna lie, it would be so sweet to get it for Christmas. But, given what we know after the article, I'm afraid it could be way later.

I'm still betting on it, too much lines up, but then I'm a glass half full kinds of guy.

It shouldn't be too long until we know for sure one way or the other at least. Hopefully something in the next Codex roadmap will give us a solid indication.

Safe bet is before the end of current edition, most probably last codex. So... 2025 I would guess, although my heart would want it way before.

If it is 2025, I hope that, at least, we'll get a bigger, better launch than WE got. Although I'm afraid that's just wishful thinking.
That was a disappointment. I was considering starting a collection too as I adore Kharn. Glad I didn't in hindsight.

Like, Fulgrim, Lucius in plastic and an all plastic Noise Marines kit are pretty much a given, maybe an all new character, but I feel there's so much more that could be done. Sonic Hellbrutes/ Dreads, perhaps a unique Raptor unit(or upgrade sprue).

My pie in the sky dream is the return of DOOMRIDER, he's just the absolute best.

Apart from the guaranteed units and characters, I crave some bikers, a melee focused unit (infantry or jump pack), possesed, termis, sonic dread, sonic tanks, some cultists, dark apostle variant... I mean, dreaming is free xd Just hope we get at least something else than 4 units.

If they get the Death Guard treatment, I'd be amazed and delighted.
It might be excessive (wink, wink) to aim that high, but I'll be dammed if it wouldn't be a dream. The ammount of minis DG has would keem me entertained for years. Makes me jealous of those nurglites, they are so lucky to be so marketable.

I'll need to work on the unit and miniature speculation Article next. I was going to split out what the lore, prior edition etc, could tell us (and have release date, minis, lore, rules etc. sections under them) but better approach is to have articles on what Minis to expect, what rules to expect, what lore developments and then cite varying sources under each.

Hard to know with Games workshop, they have been rumours for so long, some of them pretty firm, about actual minis being produced and rules in play testing years before the WE release (speculation at the time we were to be before them, bar COVID we might both have been released by now).

If this turns out to be true there is a chance there could be a 'backlog' of miniatures there and we get a bigger release? That's pie in the sky though. DG were large because they were the poster children of a Edition as antagonists and have always been the most popular / marketable (well, not always, Wes for for a long time and back in 2nd). Slaanesh EC are decidedly the least so of the 4.

It also almost seems like GW at times purposely keep completed things back to split released and not overwhelm wallets. Would also no surprise me if, no matter what is complete, we get a WE style release, then maybe a few chars / single unit next edition, then a second release in 5-6 years (bit all the work being complete well before, decision is just finishing a go slot on the production and release schedule).

Will see, after waiting so long I think sheet happiness at having anything will outweight any complaints.

Doomrider, seems anyone with any love of EC would lose their shit should be have hiom back. I'm hoping too. Certainly would be a nice change from Lucius and Eidolon. Feels like he's be better as an 11th edition "if not slotted for a range refresh / boost you only get one character with your codex" splash release though.

Oh, and I'd really love a Slaanesh swarm thing. seems like absolutely zero chance, but I;ve wanted it as long as nurgling have existing.

More cute little chibi devils on your shoulder style than mass of writhing tentacles though. Some sort of sensual worm mass (just take a seeker and stretch it to a snake) could work. I'd planned to model that (or use old epic daemonettes) if running nurglings ata GT for the rules, but by the time that would be done we'd have our own codex / index now and they'd be defunct.

I've been using the old nude catgirl familiar as a kind of base decoration/nurgling. Got one ages ago and made a mould. Put them on some Death Guard bases too. Would easily work as a Slaaneshi familiar/chibi/imp.

Omg, I would love to have that familiar! It's almost impossible to find now.
