Emperor’s Children Community Hub
What would an aspiring hub of all things Emperor’s Children be without links to the main communities surrounding our faction? Not much, that’s what.
After getting in touch with the creators / current administrators of both the Emperor’s Child Discord and Emperor’s Children Reddit communities we can now make a couple of critical additions to the resources here.
This also passes a major milestone in achieving the goal of setting up a central hub for all things Emperor’s Children, and brings us one step closer to the wider official site launch.
Updated She Who Thirsts site links

Links to both communities will feature prominently, under the communities section of the main navigation, as well as media links in the footer and a resources in the main forum resources listing.
The community section summary will be updated to make clear these are affiliate links, not managed or owned by She Who Thirsts but rather a part (an absolutely core part) of the wider Emperor’s Children community.
Both communities already feature links to She Who Thirsts in their own affiliate and resources sections and have agreed to allow posting of articles featured on the site to their feeds.
Likewise She Who Thirsts has offered to feature / host any content they may wish publish on a traditional site front.
It’s important to acknowledge and thank both of them for this given they are, by far, the larger and more established communities out there.
It was honestly gratifying to see excitement for a site and forum popping up rather than any hint of competition or stepping on toes. Completely in line with the site goals and reason for existing at all.
Over and above that I’d like to personally thank them for their support and encouragement when we hastily opened out doors to both communities a month earlier than planned following the Emperor’s Children Index announcement. Ideally even a soft launch would have had these in place prior!
Why all the fuss, couldn’t She Who Thirsts have just linked all Emperor’s Children sites?
Well, yes, we could have. Just as many other places online (some of them forums themselves!) handle external resources, and there’s no issue at all with that. Many sites will be linked in the various resources on She Who Thirsts and we actively seek submissions for this.
However both of these communities represent the main body of the Emperor’s Children specific user-base online. As such we would want to share content with them, and feature their content here, it wouldn’t have been appropriate to do so without first clearing things.
There was a risk of there being whiff of competition, or trying to ride on the coattails of others. Thankfully not the case in fact or impression, but both would have been well within their rights (with no hard feelings) to not be involved or wait and see how She Who Thirsts pans out first.
The prominence both communities occupy on the site here is also much higher and needed a more partnership based approach.
As noted several times, these are the main Emperor’s Children communities online (though if any have missed attention, do let us know!) and so, given She Who Thirsts aims to be a central hub for all things Emperor’s Children, visitors should be able to find them within a couple of clicks, not further down in a larger resources list.
Maybe a final, basic point, it’s just plain good manners.
So what next?
Well, not all that much! If requested you may see the odd notification or article here from the respective communities from time to time.
As a fellow hobbyist you’ll certainly see me (and may have already, even before this site) on the Emperor’s Children Discord and on the Emperor’s Children Reddit. (Naturally my usernames predate the site, so no “She Who Thirsts” on each.)
Certainly you’ll see articles from She Who Thirsts on both communities should you be me a member. Most are you will be at the time of writing, given the soft launch only invited users from both of these communities!
Given the nature of the content here, long-form and taking considerable time to compile, spamming the channels will not be a worry even with the extra flurry of activity as the initial base articles are published.
Our community spotlight will now be open to feature the best content from each community (still with authors’ consent) to bring it to the attention of both communities, or She Who Thirsts users.
Joining the Emperor’s Children Community

Normally an article here signs off with a link to the forums to join the discussion. This time instead, find your own way there if that interests you
Rather take some strong encouragement to join the Reddit and Discord communities should you not already be a member, and give them another look if you have lapsed!
Both are absolutely fantastic and filled to the brim with fellow devotes of the Dark Prince. There has been a marked uptick in activity with the mere announcement of an index.
Expect to save a wave coming when we actually have something of substance to get our teeth, claws or other appendages into. Hopefully by then, and through to the final codex release, She Who thirsts will have resources and content populated to satisfy the next wave on converts.
If you are reading this article near the time of writing you are almost certainly a member of one of the communities already. If you happen to not be a member of the other, go and give them a look!
