The home of Emperor’s Children then. No pressure. Presumptions and wholly to early to state so, but given that is, somewhat, the goal here lets allow some latitude shall we?
A semi-enforced early soft release for She Who Thirsts
The original draft timelines were to release around the time the 10th Edition Chaos Space Marine Codex released, i.e. some time in May 2024.
The last few weeks have seen the structure and coding / setup of the site finalised with only minimal initial articles, with a few weeks of hard graft left to churn through a list of planned writing, allowing the site to launch with a selection of weighty content.
After the announcement of the 10th Edition Emperor’s Children Index, and through that almost certain confirmation of a Codex release, it feels like the right time to open the doors. We all know where overly striving for perfection leads to after all.
About the site, forums and reason She who Thirsts even exists
I suspect some may we wondering why this site even exists. What with the proliferation of content out there already and seemingly everyone and their dog (and cat, children and partner) apparently generating said content these days.
That in itself is partly the reason, there’s is just so much information out there, and often fantastic resources, but it’s spread across multiple more generic sources.
Becoming a central hub and resources both for that information and the wider Emperor’s Children community is one of the core reasons She Who Thirsts exists.
Generating some of that fabled ‘content’ as primary, but very narrow, source is also a main goal. There is a distinct lack of long-form article level content out there for Emperor’s Children.
The overarching main driving factor though is this is the site I personally have always wished existed for Emperor’s Children. Rather than continue waiting for someone to put something together, I have set about building it myself and hope others feel the same and find it useful.
Checkout out the She Who Thirsts about page for a slightly longer summary, or the forums for a much more in-depth and personal view, including the decision to set up the forums themselves.

What reasons aren’t a consideration
As a labour of love internet clout nor a side hustle to drive traffic or monetisation are decidedly not factors. I have no need of either, I’m too old and lack the ego for the former and have been lucky enough in life to be comfortable on the latter.
In fact I’d be extremely happy if She Who Thirsts becomes merely a spark that sees it in a decidedly backfield role with others mainly contributing. Or, for that matter, for it to simply become a useful collated resource for the community.
Again, first and foremost, it’s just what I had wished to see existing for Emperor’s Children.
What to expect from She Who Thirsts
Emperor’s Children Content
No surprises here.
There are a few links, settings, display tweaks and coding that needs ironed out, but the site and forums are largely functional and, I hope, aesthetically pleasing.
In the run up to our 10th Edition Codex release naturally the main focus will be on tracking, collating and reporting on the News and Rumours (and sometimes speculation) as we draw near.
That isn’t to say there won’t be room for Lore, Hobby, and Tactics content, particularly in the latter case with the recently announced index (and reason for the early launch) now in the offing.
This may also include linking (with permission) and directing traffic to the aforementioned other great resources out there. I’m sure and we have more solid releases to get stuck into we will also see similarly weighty content emerging.
Through this phase adding to a central hub of resources and tools will also be a priority, as soon as the planned (for the original release) backlogged articles have been published.

Community and Hobby
One of those resources will hopefully be the community around the forums, and hobby aspects therein through the Media Gallery and Project Logs.
As noted in the linked pages above there is an absolute mountain of Emperor’s Children Hobby content out there, but it’s all over the place. This may well only be add yet another one to that list, but at least it will be largely specific and curated.
The forums exist as an addition to the current communities, offering an avenue for long form, longer time period discussions in contrast to mere ephemeral fast moving social media.
This will be a long term project as communities do not evolve overnight. It may turn out to be a dead end with the rest of the site proving more useful, but worth testing all the same.

Future Developments
Alongside various technical doodads & widgets and the community growth finding further contributors is a longer term goal. This is most apparent in the cutting edge of the competitive space.
This is a key driver of what people are interested in (alongside the hobby space). I’ll be the first to admit that my ability caps out at semi-competitive mid-table at best, so attracting some in depth tactics discussion at the bleeding edge is a key consideration.
Saying that I’m completely at home with stats and analysis, so expect to see some reporting and armchair analysis and Mathhammer when there is actual data to analyse.
Pie in the sky would be opening up to the wader allure of Slaanesh, particularly Hedonites of Slaanesh in Age of Sigmar, Emperor’s Children in Horus Heresy and specialist games but, outside of Blood Bowl, that would be wholly reliant on other contributors in any depth other than the surface level.
Mainly She Who Thirsts aim to be reactive to the needs of the community even if that means this entire endeavour misses the mark and should be shuttered.
And we’re off – Feedback
A lot of plans and promised have been made and listed above, lets see where time and the waves of rumours, news and, praise Slaanesh, eventual release takes us.
For now I’d very much appreciate thoughts, criticisms and feedback in the forums linked here.
Looking forward to speaking with you soon my brothers, sisters and others in Slaanesh.
Aaron
