It was that or Huron, no mini -> no rules pretty much with GW. Looks like Huron will have a mini sometime soon given they have removed the Finecast model from the store recently, though maybe he will be the Character for 11th CSM release.
Have 12 typos tracked to go and fix across last two articles! Will get a short article out on the now leaks, likely ranking by power, theme and rules fit and what minis we are likely to see come to our codex for CSM so which one is good to lean into (sadly that's likely one that has a lot of heavy support as they mostly come across, raiders or Vashtorr look to be most powerful for that, and raiders generally strong, also a good fit for us).
The research for the detachment article is taking an age as well, not great when I have had maybe 3-4 free time in a week! Going through indexes and detachments, classifying abilites for khorne, slannesh etc. to data backing on what we likely see in ours, 5 hours in and problem 15-20 more to go, also going to bring in past editions, theme, lore etc.).
Need to update the likely units with frebrand and Valrak rumours too 9though to be honest that was one of his more wishy washy updates and he;s speculated 4 different dates now, a different one each update, so putting little stock in it).
Without the index not sure how Mark of slaanesh will work as from my quick read it isn't really a think in CSM as we know we can only get marked units. How that will work might be core mechanic to us.
I think people may be sleeping on the nightlords detachment, battleshock rules generally suck, but when you have so many modifiers on them and options for popping them then it might get tasty. If you are running units of versatile OC2 noise marines (hopefully) which are great at tactica options / decisions, up and down Tolons for secondaries and ratpor for more shock etc. Pretty powerful primary denial game, just that CSM tend to be glass cannon, better at killing fast / sipiking, and then can't hold objectives so dosen't lean in, buit if you are really locking out primary (or, more importantly, have a constant realistic throat of doing so so you oponent can;t rely on it) and easily doing secondaries you really get into a strong control game, killing not the main goal, delay and deny, Up and down raptor unit, deploylaying in backfield with full RRs hits and wounds.
Can't really see a way to get it working yet, and not even sure it;s strong, but worth thinking. Certainly fun to have a different way of playing, no amy really does battleshoick well enough for it to be a factor, this might and that is attractive enough for me to lean into it!T
That's after all of 5 mins of reading though (work has been killing me this week, 2am finished,m hence little activity)
Perhaps they will list which units can get MoS and what it does in the index, if so it will be a very strong hint of what units will make it across into the codex. (That's my hottest take. speculation anyways)
