I'm trying to get my head around what would work well, on theme, with raiders (aside from 'anything!') Assuming Lucius and Noise Marines keep current rules (and really, really hoping NMs go OC2) and points stay the same have been playing around.
Wondering if Lucius could lose fights first given how restrictive GW have been on it though since Custodes locked out other Melee armies. Could see it going once a game maybe. To be honest, that's fine. The threat of FF is often more impactful that the rule itself.
This is where I'm at currently but needs tweaks.
Losing Nurglings / any infiltrators is going to be a massive headache. Especially given RR wants to run up the board and stage / dare the opponent to go near a Primary. Part of me was thinking to pivot into a shooting heavy version with NMs and Havocs on Rhinos only supported by melee, but there are just too many good melle options.

- Lucius and 10 Legionaries with MoE and Scouts 6" in a Rhino is insane.
- Lords and Chosen hopping off the Rhino, dropping legionaries as objective skirmisher missiles, and making use of 0CP AoC or more likely doubling up on Ruinous Raid for free.
- Havocs and NMs popping out of a Rhino popping anything on an objective with shooting (Chaff or Vehicles) with Ruinous Raid. Might be better with AC Havocs and Las staying back to pop any other vehicles wandering on an OBJ (and as more backfield screening).
- Warp Talons for harassing backfield objectives and their up and down jank (which goes well with them), no surprises.
- I've always loved the Term Sorc (though with Elixer) as a tech piece. The threat of dropping in and giving another AP to something, or popping it on something not on an objective, alongside secondary scoring options. Need more than backfield chaff to deal with it too. Maybe should reconsider it though given most things will easily be up-field and have that AP pip on Objectives already. There's very little that doesn't love the Hex though.
Less sure:
- Defiler?! Mostly I want to see if I can make it's free strat work with both Heroic Intervention and opportunistic raiders (in opponent's phase if needs be). I feel there's something here that can really surprise / lean into the jank. (or, more likely, they very threat of it controlling opponent movement / thinking just like fights first). Between this and Lucius it can really leave headaches for an opponent they maybe won't have seen before and give them a few bad options. Failing that it's always a good option to run up a flank as a distraction carnifex that needs proper attention to deal with while the rest of your army overloads the other two objectives.
Rapid Ingress threat in some matchups (that Lucius / Chosen used to occupy on Index lists). Probably the Vindi as that with shooting in some matchups if can squeeze it in.
- Pred Destructor, great, but finding the points for a Vindicator is probably better. Feel probably want both. Maybe drop AC Havocs and Bikes to get a Vindi.
- Would like a second unit of NMs for theme (- bikes would be the change) but honestly hard to see where to fit them in. Decent at clearing chaff with the extra AP on clear objectives though, and think will probably need that with Orks around. Chaincanon Havocs out of a transport with RR hits and Wounds at -1 AP -2 with sorc) would be better for that. if OC2 though NMs because almost a perfect flexible tactical unit.
- Bikes are still great, whizz around and grab secondaries and footprint to screen early on. Just think they are getting pushed out, Talons are just too good at points / ability.
