Been looking forward to start one of these, I always enjoy reading them. I'll start off with the ones I already have completed, or most of them at least. Further progress will probably be slow, as I'm a slow painter, and a bit of a hobby butterfly at the best of times.

This is one of the first I finished, a mate bestowed the name Bone Daddy upon him. At the time, I was intending to only do 30k and Mark 6, this guy intended to show the guys starting to go off the deep end into Slaaneshi madnessgood times. Turns out painting vibrant and zany colours is a lot of fun and I've gone a bit Slaaneshi myself...

Bluebeard, the guy that really sold me on the fun of the Legion.

A wee kitbash from one of those ETB Death Guard, something I had absolutely loads of. Weilds the one of a kind sonic weapon, The Magnum Gong. The theory is that he hits the face on the side of the amp with the hammer and it screams out the speaker in response.

This was one of the first pieces when I was intending to stick to 30k. Funnily enough made entirely from 40k bits....

Wargame Exclusive Bass boy.

The new Prince, clearly when he was asked what colour gear he wanted he replied "Yes." This is one I was kinda concerned about posting with the woman under his claws. I thought I might be edging close to the line.

The Artisan Butcher. Made from the body of a Wargame Exclusive Dante clone.

A few guys preaching the Book Of Fulgrim. He doesn't rememebr writing it...

Lucy in each of his eras.

Few more fellas, The tech boy in particular, the glints on his lenses ended up looking like googly eyes, but I'm kinda here for it. Also, he stole teh hazard stripes idea from an Iron Warrior on Hydra Cordatus, but obviously wasn't going to limit himself to one pattern...

The OG himself, was really happy with the freehand, usually I spend more time fixing it than doing it.

Currently collecting a lot of old metal. Got a stack of metal Raptors, Havocs, and currently in the post a lot of Rogue Trader era Renegades. (Got a lot of loyal RT stuff too, but who cares about the boring cousins?! Perhaps the Death Eagles Trio....)

Absolutely stunning! Love how unique each of them is!

Bone Daddy is my favorite, but great work all around. Really love all the high contrast and bright colors.

These are absolutely stunning, making me really wish i could just get the volume painting done and get back to display level again.

The uniqueness of each conversion, the theme, the sheet character of each and a prefect smooth / clean paint job every time. Even has good old OG noise marine that kicked it off for anyone of a certain vintage! Had to be the best DG to gluttony conversion I have seen as well.

Couldn't be happier that the first heavy hobby post is something at the top of display quality!

It's so clean, smooth and matte I'm getting Flameon vibes from them. That's the style I aspire to as my natural seems to lean into the smooth vibrant almost cartoon / combic book styling and these certainly have that. (Bold, vibrant, saturated colours.

What is your approach / technique? All standard glazes? They have such saturation I thinking there must be inks involved there somewhere? (or if not, would love to know brand of paint, I can only really get my magenta / purple to pop like this, and occasionality green. Blues, reds and yellow I still haven't fully cracked. Matte varnish after? (I have fallen out of love my the old staple, Testors dullcoat, of late).

Just stunning work. I hope it doesn't scare others off as 99% of any blogs out there won't be near this (nor should they be, personal journey after all). I'll have to keep the Slap Chop going for a while to balance it out.

Wow, thank you so much for this! I'm incredibly flattered. Though I honestly think I'm far away from that yet. I'm still only beginning to learn about NMM, so far I just wing it to where I think looks good rather than truly understanding where light should be reflecting. Only reason I took that up is because I find metallic paint so hard to work with.

I googled Flameon, and I recognise some of his work from Reddit, utterly utterly bonkers talent.

So, approach. Usually I prime black, and airbrush zenithal with Tamiya XF-2 Flat White and X20A Thinner. I keep a jar of 2 drops thinner to 1 drop paint and a jar of 4 drop thinner to 1 drop paint pre-mixed now. Learned that from watching Cult Of Paint. It gives a much smoother gradient from grey to white than most white paint or inks, nor do you need to work up from grey.

After that, blocking in with thin coats or paint or ink does a tonne of the work for you. The ones I prefer at the moment are the Scale 75 Artist line Game of Inks and Inkside Out. Their dark blue is the nicest I've ever seen and over a zenithal(or I presume slap chop, I've yet to try that) the recesses have a crazy nice purple tint to them. I've started using more and more fluoresent paints too. The Daemon Prince's pink and green are both Army Painter fluorescent. I'll glaze on any extra needed highlights then, another thing I'm learning over edge highlighting.

Matte varnish after indeed, I love a super matte finish on my minis, even though takes a bit of darkness from black. I've used Green Stuff World's Maxx Matte varnish for a long time. Though I know they're quite an unpopular company because of business practices. I've tried AK's Ultra Matte since, and it's good too, and thinner from the bottle. I can airbrush it straight out of the bottle.

This lad calls himself the Emerald Dragon, since he's green, can fly and burns his opponents. His squad leader once pointed out that, a, he's closer to lime green, b, can only jump, and c, plasma melts rather than burns. The only reply was a plasma shot to the squad leaders face and now everyone lets hin call himself whatever.

Griffith(The White, perhaps?), leader of the Falcon Milennial, named after Griffith of Berserk because of the helmet.

Edit: When I was painting this fella, the plan was to do all the trim gold NMM, but I liked the brown, so just rolled with it.

The Griffith inspired one is gorgeous! And the white is super clean!

Seconded on Griffith. I'm tossing up the idea of doing an inverted scheme like that on Fulgrim transfigured (and, since I magnetised them, getting alternate feathered wings as an option).

I have seen a few scheme that have flipped the purple with white splash to white with purple splash and it looks fanatastic for EC. Case in point above. Stunning again, great to see that scheme unexpectedly on here!

A white Fulgrim would be so brilliant and elegant! Can't wait to see that piece of snake ass with a white armor!

Works In Progress, or not even started...

Been looking through my EC/Chaos stuff to try and get it organised. Perhaps goad myself into getting a bit of work done...
This is a collection of random stuff from a few different sources, that I plan to use as slaves/decorations, thralls, cultists, etc. A lot are from Hasslefree Miniatures, they do a lot of harem/dancer/nude stuff that's quite helpful for this.

The one succubus and incubus I censored a little, while all six are nude, those two in particular are holding their junk, which is tbf, a bit much.

This one was intended to go on Lucius' base, but with hindsight, Lucy don't share the spotlight.

You might get the feeling I like old Raptors... :ROFLMAO:

DOOMRIDER, the og recast, and my most recent kitbash attempt. You can see sculpting isn't my strongest suit,

A lot going on here, the old Noise Marines, EC Lord, 3 of the old "Slaanesh Marine", one has the Slaanesh symbol sanded off its chest, should be fun trying to fix it... Wargame Exclusive Noise Singer, A Noise Marine suad made out of old Sternguard Veterans and a few kitbashes from a recast of Lucius and the EC Lord.

Oh, and an Goff Rocker, he's confused, but enjoying himself...

Recast Sonic Dreads, the old metal Dread, a converted Minotuars Contemptor, metal possessed, some leaders from the AOD box, Wargame Exclusive Noise Guitarist, few recast daemons, and an old old metal Damonette rider. I plan on making a mould of the mount to put on some Rogue Trader Slaanesh Rider bodies.

Some Rogue Trader Chaos Renegades. Some are specifically Khorne, but back then very little actually makes them look god specific enough that you cant get away with using them.

A kitbash from a Wargame Exclusive Fabius bit and some random stuff, guess it could be one of his fanboys from the Consortium...

A nib box of Metal/Plastic Havocs, and a whole bunch of old metal Havocs.

A legion Vigilator kitbash, I guess... Wasn't really planned. Not sure of a name yet either, Screaming Bullet or The Perfect Shot perhaps. Lore is that he finds a sniping point, to find the most incredibly difficult shot possible. Shoots the target, then uses the speakers on his powerpack to announce it was him that made the kill rather than being stealthy like a proper sniper...

A Daemon Prince with a guitar from Mierce Miniatures.

Kinda Fulgrim. I have the proper one too, but I really hate it's head, need to find a replacement, perhaps one of the lions winged helms....

Plenty more between stuff I've not pic'd or not recieved yet, but that's plenty enough for now, I think!

Hmm, something up with those. I can see and access the images in the admin panel, but they don;t show for users. Trying to see what the issue is.

Have they been uploaded to a personal album set to private maybe?

*edit* that was it, I've opened it up.

Holy hell, so much old Nostalgia metal there. I've been slowly building up the my old end-3rd ed collection I sold off but the Raptors, Possessed (never owned them I think though) and noise marines are naturally on that list, along with a fortune of Diaz daemonettes. Even haver the RT renegades! Dual Doomriders! It's like an EC nostalgia motherlode. Making me want to jump 2 projects ahead (probably 3 when new EC launches) and make a start at oldhammer.

Can't want to see some of these painted up on your style.

Have seen a few people thinking the lion's head is a good fix for HH fulgrim, could probably also do a bluestuff mould of transfigured as well if you had both, though it'd be a bit fiddly.

Ahhh damn, sorry, I thought that was how to do it so I could link them here, but without having them clog up the main gallery slideshow.

I have some recast Diaz Daemonettes and Seekers, but couldn't get a pic right now as they're buried in a cupboard.

Omg, that is just an amazing collection! Gorgeous! Is the pole girl from Citadel? That would be just so funny xd
