Nice, that is looking pretty sweet! And the base is just perfect! Shame about the NMM, I guess that the path to perfection is full of failure: it's just another chance to grow, keep it up!Another smaller update, I think I posted this Minotaur dread before, but here's a better look at the work done to make it more EC, I took as I was priming it the other day.
I left most of the imperial stuff, because I think that's pretty on brand for EC taking the piss. So it was just adding the III's and covering/sanding the Minotaur symbols for the most part. The hardest part was carving an EC legion symbol off a shoulderpad to cover up part of the loincloth/ptruges or whatever those leather flappy bits are called.
Just wanted to show this too, with every Dread, or the vast majority at least, I put a green stuff shim in their waist/torso connection. Makes them a little taller, and I find a bit more posable. Especially with Castaferrum, and double especially with Chaos Castaferrum where they have so little flexibility and often spikes getting in the way,
This is a WIP base for another EC Contemptor, you can see I was quite rough and ready with the nmm on the Raven Guard and his bits of gear. I don't think there's much need to go whole hog on something that'll barely get a glance when done. The big smoosh where his head was, is kind of a shame, as it's now almost completely covered by the Dread's boot.
This was an utter disaster. Almost soul destroyingly. Whole thing tinted a pukey green. I can fix it, I think, but I was so disheartened I popped the whole mini and all it's bits in a ziplock and put it away.
Mistakes are just lessons, I guess. Now I know more about those colours.
Lot of it is quite rough, espcially the gold, but I both got lazy while doing it, and wanted to see a mini finished. Only after varnishing I realised I forgot text on his chest, and a few other details but done is done.

In my head, they're the exact opposite of Russ, look dignified(or at leased used to until their armour got all graffiti) but acts like a monster.
This arrived today, an absolute steal at 25 euros. Was listed as "Classic Plague Marines", but those of us obsessed with EC might notice they're actually Fabius Biles Enhance CSM retinue.
Not the right weapons, and no backpacks, but I believe they just used 2nd/3rd edition standard plastic bits, so easy to deal with.

It's the old CSM box of the era, but has the command/heavy sprue replaced with the old pewter Noise Marine Upgrade pack. The one with the heads, sword, chest piece and the like.
This is still my favorite take on the 2018 Noise Marine model I've seen, love it!Bluebeard, the guy that really sold me on the fun of the Legion.
