Greetings,

I'm wondering who is currently playing, as best as is possible, an E.C. army in 40K, and who among us has been waiting, like me, for the news that was just announced?

Oh, I have been waiting for a long time, ever since I read CSM codex 3.5 as a kid. But of course, like almost every kid, I started collecting loyalist marines until high school. Then... just stopped the mini hobby for some years, although kept reading and playing the videogames and always fantasizing about one day having a Slaaneshi marines army. After the pandemics I went full Craftworld eldar (the irony, lol) and started collecting and painting again. By that time the rumours of Fulgrim´s glorious come back started appearing, so I knew it was a question of time and... here we are! Almost half a decade later lol
I have been saving and preparing a lot of bits and parts for converting, and even was ready to create a scratch noise marines force... Then the last Valrak´s rumours kicked in and now I´m paralyzed again, waiting to, at least, know unit compositions and equipment options. At least we finally know it will be next year, and probably spring!

I can so immensely relate to all of this. Sans the irony lol, that was my Son who was playing Eldar.

I can definitely relate to that too. I started in 2nd ed, but stopped playing my Emperor's Children at the start of 5th edition, as the new codex destroyed the army I'd made and have been waiting for the right moment to start again and do the army properly for nearly 20 years now. Sweet zombie Eidolon was the wait worth it!

I can definitely relate to that too. The huge loss of customization in 5th ed. was such an absolute shame. Chaos should totally be all about crazy conversions, kitbashing, unique looking minis, units and loadouts... The cooler orks when it comes to converting, so to say. The current tendency to standarize everything acording to box contents is truly a setback for the chaotic factions... Although, let´s be real, I still intend to convert the shit out of his army!

It really was and I couldn't agree more. That was always the part I'd loved most about the army was getting to convert everything, so to then lose the sonic weapons etc on pretty much every unit in the army just killed it and I couldn't just switch them all back, as I was seriously financially challenged at that point. Lol. Yeah, it's incredibly annoying and stifling to have to follow what they dictate, but as you say - there's plenty of scope for conversions still and the models are so fooking nice! I'm just scared the scalpers are going to win and I won't be able to get a copy of the army set, but there's always hope and I have spoken to my lgs and they are going to try and secure me one, so fingers, toes and nipples are crossed! Lol.

I finally recieved a box of tormentors/infractors and a box of noise marines, so the adventure begins! Best thing is that, since I had been saving bits for some years, I´ll be able to make 10 infractors and 10 tormentors out of one single box. Praise Slaanesh!
