Welcome to the project logs section of She Who Thirsts.

Forum Media Gallery function

Whilst able to both link to external images and directly embed / upload images as attachments the forum has a useful Media Gallery feature that enables use to save your own album(s), with viewing permission you can set yourself, or to upload into the general forum galleries.

This ensures that images will never expire, allows you to curate to images and allows other users people to rate and comment on them. It also solves problems hotlinks to the various image hosting options out there can cause when either images expire / are removed or hot linking is blocked on the host. (note, we also have hot linking protection set on this forum as well).

A cache (copy) of linked images is made and set to expire after 365 days to cover instances of broken links on all recent posts, however after this time images will be lost (to save site overheads).

At present individual users galleries are set at a 100MB limit which should suffice for hundreds of images, but if that limit is regularly reached it can be raised.

Ideally please try to save images as a smaller jpg. Going from a 3000x1000 pixel full quality .png to a 1000x400 .jpg could reduce an image from 3MB to 150kB for example.

Uploading items to the forum Media Gallery directly
  1. Go to the "Media" section in the main menu (top bar) above.
  2. Click on "Add Media" found near the top right corner.
  3. You will get a popup on where you want to upload the new media. If you just want to put it in your own album, scroll to the bottom.
  4. Click on your album, or "Create new album" if you have yet to create one.
  5. You'll get an option to "Upload file" or "embed media". Choose upload file
  6. Select a file from your computer and click ok
  7. Give a title and description
  8. Click Save.
  9. The image will now be uploaded to the Media Gallery and available.
Embedding images from the media gallery in posts
  1. This is simple, just select the camera icon in the post editing window (see the image below).
  2. A popup will appear. Select the source / album.
  3. Click on the image.
  4. Click continue.
  5. You will see the following BB code on the post (spaces added so it will display code):
    [ GALLERY=media, XX][/GALLERY ]
  6. To see how this will look in your post you can hit preview
The image below has been entered using this function.

Project log content and formatting

There are no specific rules here, use whatever format or approach you wish. As always keep discourse civil and any criticism or opinions in response should be constructive, not malicious.

We're all adults here, rule #1 of "don't be a dick" applies.

What's the rules in regards to NSFW stuff, like, not porn(obviously), but minis with exposed nips and the like? I have stuff like that, old daemonettes/greater daemons, some 3rd party slaves/victims that I've been adding to the odd mini.

Like if it's too much, I'll happily not bother with the more grim stuff, or add little censorship stars over exposed bits if needed.

I guess that NSFW stuff is ok, considering this:

If you have some spicy minis, I can't wait to feast my eyes on them! And same with Hellraiser-esque stuff, and everything that makes Slaanesh unique, from the silliest kitbashes to more mature themes.

I love me some Hellraiser body horror, need to get more of that into my minis.

A bit of John Blanche, Hellraiser, Giger blending. Grim Dark sensual body horror.... I have a whole section of inspiration links somewhere in tone, light, colours and texture down that route.

There is an artist out there, I have him on one of my hundreds of links, who creates proper nightmare fuel in miniature form as well.

Back to the topic - I may have to bite the bullet and make a forums rules post, clarity is kindness even if it's essentially - there are no restrictive rules, don't be a dick and don't post anything grossly offensive / spoiler tag anything that might be. As you would in life.

Anyway, no issue at all with artistic nudity, violence, gore etc.

Live and let live when to comes to actual pornographic content and gratuitous violence / gore or whatever else (legally) floats your boat. However for the best if we keep that away from the focus of the site, not the purpose here. i.e. even in off topic out and out porn threads, snuff threads or whatever have far better communities and avenues for that.

The same should probably go for things like politics or other polarising issues.

It's always a shame when communities have mini-dictators, cliques and mods running rampant, same for users. We're lot large enough for it to be an issue but best to set the tone.

*edit* here's a good one from my Giger folder
